Iveta Valeva-Topakbashyan is a Doctor of Criminal Law, having defended her dissertation on “Criminal Liability under Bulgarian Law” at the University of Veliko Tarnovo “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”. She completed her Master’s degree in Law at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski.” From 2020 to 2024, she served as an Assistant in Criminal Law, and from 2025 – as Senior Assistant in Criminal Law at the Institute for State and Law at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. She is an attorney with the Sofia Bar Association. She is the author of numerous publications in the field of criminal law.
